A MAN was left with a fractured cheek bone after being followed and punched in the street by a robber.
The 27-year-old victim was making his way to the Kings Arms pub, in Thames Road, Billingham, at about 5.15pm on Saturday, when he noticed another man behind him.
The second man appeared to be also heading towards the pub, from Kings Road, but as they entered Wolviston Road, the robber pounced.
He punched the victim in the face, causing him to fall to the ground. The robber then stole his black leather wallet, containing £100 and cards, from his jeans, before restraining him and stealing a £150 Accurist watch from his wrist.
The injured man was taken to University Hospital of North Tees, where he was treated for a fractured cheek bone. He will need further treatment at James Cook University Hospital, Middlesbrough.
The attacker is described as white, aged in his late 20s or early 30s, about 6ft, and with short brown hair and of medium build.
He was wearing a black shiny bomber jacket, blue jeans and black shoes.
