A FAMILY have had a complete makeover at a recently re-launched store after winning a newspaper competition.
The Newton family, from Warwick Close, in Spennymoor, won a stylish makeover at the hands of fashion guru Jill Pollitt after winning a competition in The Durham Advertiser, sister paper of The Northern Echo.
Mum Lynne, 38, husband Stephen, 40, and daughter Ruth, 15, went along to the Tesco Extra store in Durham City to claim their top prize of a family makeover and £300 in Tesco store vouchers, which will also be shared with 18-year-old son Stephen, who was unable to visit the store.
Jill, a regular on popular daytime TV show This Morning, offered some tips on what to wear, using clothing from the store's first floor, which opened last month.
Mrs Newton said: "We all had a fabulous time. We were made to feel very special by Jill and all the staff at the Tesco Extra and we'd like to thank the Durham Advertiser for choosing us as their winners.
"We actually bought the outfits that Jill dressed us in with our winning vouchers and the outfit my daughter was wearing was completely sold out after the event."
