A SCHOOL honoured its star students at a presentation night.
Wolsingham School and Community College headteacher Andrea Crawshaw praised pupils, teachers and parents for their contribution to a successful year in and out of the classroom.
Ms Crawshaw singled out sixth form Information Technology specialist Dawn Pirie for the Headteacher's Prize.
On top of her academic commitments, she said, Dawn had helped pilot E-Me pupil records, addressed headteachers at a conference, worked with pupils in local primary schools, chaired the school council, attended a residential conference for managers and leaders of the future and supported community activities in Howden-le-Wear.
Ms Crawshaw said: "She spread her knowledge beyond the classroom for the benefit of others.
"She has represented our school brilliantly."
The Governors' Prize went to Daniel Bowman, from Rookhope, who helped raise money for IT equipment for the village community centre.
