A DISQUALIFIED driver who caused an accident when she pulled into the path of another car pleaded guilty to motoring charges when she appeared before South Durham magistrates yesterday.
Leanne Erin Akers, 21, of Third Street, Crookhall, near Consett, had been taking birthday presents to her young son, who was staying with relatives at Bradley Hill Caravan site, near Wolsingham,on May 1, the court heard. The single mother lost her licence for drink driving on November 30 last year. But she borrowed a car when she could not get a lift to visit her son.
Akers admitted driving while disqualified, driving without due care and attention and having no insurance.
The case was adjourned until January 6.
