STUDENTS endured the heat of the kitchen as they learned about industrial catering at Darlington College of Technology.
Thirteen youngsters, aged 14 and 15, from Staindrop Business and Enterprise College, spent the day making bread and Christmas puddings as part of their course work.
Teacher Katie Swinburne said: "We have been looking at large-scale production techniques as part of the GCSE food technology course.
"We have developed a great relationship with Darlington College and spent the day making bread for its Oak Room restaurant and puddings to sell at the school's Christmas fair on Saturday."
Darlington College tutor Jennifer Craig said: "They have been wonderful students, very interested and eager to learn. They have really enjoyed using all our machinery, which is used in the catering industry."
