PUB regulars are being invited to share their Christmas thoughts while raising money for charity.
The Duke of Wellington pub, at Neville's Cross, in Durham City, is installing a Christmas Tree of Thought to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Relief.
In exchange for a donation to the charity, customers can write messages on cards which will be hung around the recently-redecorated pub.
Pub manager Lynne Kennedy said: "We want to celebrate the festive season with our guests, and Christmas is the ideal time to be thinking of others, sending messages to loved ones and raising money for a good cause, too.
"We hope lots of people want to be involved. People are more than welcome to pop in to the pub at any time to find out more about the campaign."
