THREE winter walks have been organised to help people improve their health and fitness over the festive period.
Wear Valley District Council's Wear Walking for Health initiative has organised a guided walk in Frosterley on Sunday.
Anyone who wants to join the easy two-mile walk around Harehope Quarry is asked to meet at the haulage depot, Broadwood, on the A689, at 9.45am for a 10am start.
On Wednesday, December 14, there will be a one-hour walk using well surfaced, wheelchair accessible paths followed by mince pies and other refreshments.
Walkers should meet at Crook library at 9.45am for a 10am start. Free tickets and details are available from library staff on (01388) 762269.
Howden-le-Wear Walking Club will hold an easy stroll on Saturday, December 17, from the village's community centre at 1pm, followed by refreshments.
Children are welcome if accompanied by an adult.
