EFFORTS to build a school on the edge of the North York Moors have been given a boost.
The Friends of Sutton School raised £5,586 when they held a auction night at the Whitestonecliffe Inn.
They are raising funds for a primary school to replace the existing one which is now in a poor condition.
Among the items sold at the auction was a signed shirt worn by pop star Ronan Keating at a pro-celebrity golf tournament.
The next fundraising project will be a market stall in Northallerton on Saturday, which will sell Christmas decorations as well items made by the youngsters and their parents.
