Sunderland housebuilder Wilcomm Homes has appointed GEORGE JOBSON as construction manager.
He began his career at 16 as an apprentice joiner and has been in the industry all his working life.
Mr Jobson spent ten years as construction manager at Bellway and two-and-a half years as construction director at Alfred McAlpine.
The 53-year-old, from Newcastle, said: "The directors at Wilcomm approached me after being recommended my name by someone.
Having spent the past few years freelancing, I was quite keen on the idea of working for one company again and, after sitting down with them, I decided that Wilcomm was the right company for me.
Wilcomm Homes was established in 2003, and has developments in Seaham, Sunderland, Durham and Teesside.
