CRIB scenes from around the world took visitors on a journey to Bethlehem at an exhibition in Darlington at the weekend.
Individuals, churches and organisations lent their images of the first Christmas to go on display at St Cuthbert's Church, in the town centre, on Saturday and Sunday.
The exhibition featured knitted and carved, cardboard and plaster, large and minute models depicting the birth of Christ.
The event was held to raise funds for Christian Aid. Although there was no admission charge, people were invited to give a donation.
A spokeswoman for the event explained why the exhibition was held for the worthwhile cause.
She said: "Christian Aid is an interdenominational organisation, which works in more than 60 countries. It helps people to improve their own lives and tackle the causes of poverty and injustice."
