MEMORABILIA signed by stars of screen and sport will go under the hammer to raise money for children with diabetes this week.
A signed picture of the cast of Coronation Street, a jacket worn by TV presenter Carol Malia and a Sunderland football shirt signed by last year's promotion-winning side are among the lots in the auction.
Organisers hope that Thursday's event at St Paul's Church, Witton Park, Bishop Auckland, will raise about £1,000 towards buying vital insulin pumps for youngsters being treated by Bishop Auckland General Hospital paediatric consultant Dr Bill Lamb.
It is the second auction held this year by Tom Dixon, of Calder Close, Etherley Dene, Bishop Auckland, who has raised money for dozens of charities.
The auction will be part of an evening of entertainment with Durham Constabulary's Male Voice Choir. Tickets are £6 from Mr Dixon on (01388) 608040.
