A GROUP of children have been hard at work with a massive supply of Christmas pudding mix to bring good cheer to elderly residents this festive season.
Year ten pupils from Greencroft Community School, Annfield Plain, near Stanley, County Durham, were taking part in a project by a company called Enterprise Place.
The enterprise education centre Derwentside, which works mainly with schools in the district, arranged the event with Richard Bell, executive chef and operations manager at Beamish Hall Hotel.
Enterprise Place workshop facilitator Jane Miller said: "We have 15 students busy working on a massive Christmas pudding mix at Beamish Hall Hotel. They all had a wonderful time.
"The mix will be divided up to make Christmas puddings which will be delivered by the pupils to local old people's homes and sheltered housing over the next few weeks.
Enterprise Place has further projects arranged for the pupils in the New Year.
