A COLLEGE is breaking down the barriers of the construction world to encourage more women into the industry.
Redcar and Cleveland College is offering taster sessions to young women who may be interested in a career in construction.
The Tees Valley Learning and Skills Council says that women in the industry are under-represented.
It aims to treble the number of female apprentices by 2007.
Anyone interested in a career in construction can contact Heather Baxter on (01642) 473132.
Prospective students can meet the existing female apprentices and arrange a tasters session.
