MARK Tinkler believes happy memories from the FA Cup can help Hartlepool United into round three at the weekend.
Pool meet Conference side Tamworth at Victoria Park, with a place in Sunday's draw up for grabs, as Pool strive to reach round three of the competition for the third season in a row.
And Tinkler, who netted the winner in last week's victory at Bradford, admits happy memories of the FA Cup tie at Sunderland in 2004 can spur his team on.
Tamworth are struggling in the Conference, but Mark Cooper's side won at Bournemouth in round one.
Pool gave their best display of the season at Bradford and Tinkler admitted: "We've won five from seven now, which is a great run. We should have won at Gillingham with the chances we had and I don;t think we deserved to lose to Brentford either, but we're off again now and have a break from the League next week.
"The cup has been fantastic for us in the last few years and we've all got great memories of the game at Sunderland - all the fans who were there and the chance to play on such a big stage.
"But Tamworth had a good win last time at Bournemouth and they've picked up a little bit in the league as well so it will be a hard game for us.
"But we know if we can play like we have at Bradford, we will have a great chance of beating them. We are at home as well which is important.''
