A WRITTEN history of a village has been transformed into a mini television production.
The pictorial history of Lanchester was compiled some time ago by Eric Burns.
But after he had a collection of his family pictures turned into a DVD documentary by Shotley Bridge-based North Point Multimedia, he decided to have his book recreated in pictures for the small screen.
At the launch of the DVD, Dave Foster, of North Point Multimedia said: "We have been creating videos from still photographs for a long time, particularly to create family histories.
"Eric was delighted when we completed his film-style family documentary and asked us if we would carry out a similar project using his pictorial history of Lanchester as the topic."
The voice-over for the DVD was provided by Northern Echo photographer and radio presenter Brian Clough.
The DVD, costing £12.99, is available from Lanchester Library, and North Point Media, 40 Front Street, Shotley Bridge, or can be bought online at www.lanchestervillage.co.uk
