RESIDENTS and businesses are being urged to give their views on car parking and traffic on Teesside at two consultation events next week.
The survey is being carried out by the North Hartlepool Partnership to identify any parking or traffic improvements needed on the Headland, which the partnership could consider in its final year next year.
The partnership is using money from regional development agency One NorthEast to revitalise the Headland through a variety of projects.
Earlier this month, the partnership sent letters to every household on the Headland, inviting residents give their views at one of the two drop-in consultations which will be held as follows:
* Today, at the Borough Hall, between 10am and 2pm
* Tomorrow, at St Bega's Primary School, in Thorpe Street, between 4pm and 6pm.
Residents will be asked to complete a questionnaire covering a range of parking and traffic matters, including whether people are satisfied with parking at shopping parades, resident and visitor parking, traffic and road safety issues, and facilities for cyclists.
Completed questionnaires should be returned to the North Hartlepool Partnership by Friday, December 9, and people will be advised of the results early next year.
All completed questionnaires will be entered into a prize draw for a £25 shopping voucher.
Councillor John Cambridge, North Hartlepool Partnership board member, said: "Although the partnership is soon to enter its final year, it is still keen to see if it can help further with issues which are important to local residents, and traffic and parking-related matters would certainly appear to be among them."
