A North-East company has beaten competition from six rivals to design the £200,000 refurbishment of a lakeside bar and restaurant.
Portland Interior Design was selected by Northumbrian Water to carry out the interior design of the former Leaplish visitor centre and restaurant, at Kielder Water.
The company, which is based in Portland Terrace, Jesmond, Newcastle, based its design of the Boat Inn on a traditional country pub.
Portland's associate director, Gary Gaffney, said: "The design of the interior focused on the relocation of the bar and redesigning the eating and drinking areas, introducing features such as the log burning fire and allowing the furniture to play a large part in creating a sense of light and warmth."
Portland was set up more than 14 years ago.
