YOUNG swimmers from across Darlington competed for their primary schools in an annual gala.

Numerous schools from across the borough took part in the Darlington Primary Small Schools Swimming Gala, held in the town's Dolphin Centre.

Proud parents and teachers cheered on the children in races including freestyle, backstroke and relay.

Holy Family RC Primary School was crowned the overall winner, and also won the boys' and girls' categories.
