A VOLUNTEER who has devoted a quarter of a century to helping the ambulance service is in the running for a top honour.
Malcolm Robinson is a voluntary car driver for the service in North Yorkshire - and now he is through to the finals of the Yorkshire Awards.
Mr Robinson, who was nominated by ambulance staff, is a finalist in the Unsung Hero category of the awards.
The 58-year-old lives in Knaresborough and works six days a week taking patients to hospital appointments.
"I'm just doing a job that I really enjoy," he said.
Viewers of the Calendar News programme will be able to vote for Malcolm once the voting line is revealed on Thursday evening's edition.
He will find out if he has won at the Yorkshire Awards Ceremony, which is held at the Yorkshire Television studios on Friday.
