A HOSPITAL psychiatrist dumped confidential paperwork outside his home and shouted at colleagues, accusing one of being possessed by demons, a medical tribunal heard yesterday
The General Medical Council was also told that Dr Frederick Otto-Darko failed to follow medical procedures and seek Home Office approval before allowing a patient on restricted access to leave the hospital.
The doctor, who has worked in the Darlington area, is also accused of failing to complete patient reports and attend meetings as part of an internal inquiry into treatment.
Dr Otto-Darko, of Tringham Close, Woking, Surrey, denied a charge of serious professional misconduct, at the disciplinary hearing in Manchester.
He started work as a locum consultant psychiatrist for the Surrey Oaklands NHS Trust in January 2001.
The Fitness to Practise Panel heard he shouted at a colleague when she tried to tell him to write more detailed accounts of patient treatment.
Outlining the prosecution case, Craig Sephton QC said he also wrote her a memo suggesting she was possessed by demons and expressing "contempt for her so-called preoccupation for order".
The tribunal continues.
