NORTH Yorkshire residents are to be given a chance to learn more about local issues this week.
On Wednesday, a parish forum is being held for residents of western Richmondshire in West Burton Village Hall, at 7pm.
Richmondshire District Council will outline its plans for waste management and there will also be an update from the county council's highways department on winter maintenance and news from the Rural Community Car Club.
Speakers from the fire service, primary care trust and police will also attend and be available for individual discussions after the meeting.
Heather Ward, the district council's democratic services officer, said: "Parish forums draw together a number of speakers to inform and update residents on a wide range of issues affecting where they live, as well as asking for suggestions and encouraging questions and debate."
A forum for residents of east Richmondshire takes place at Dalton and Gayles Village Hall, on Wednesday, March 8.
