ABOUT 40 firefighters battled to control a blaze at a supermarket today.
Crews were called at about 9am to the Co-op, in Leyburn, North Yorkshire, after fire broke out on a flat roof at the rear of the store. Staff and shoppers were evacuated. Nobody was injured.
It is understood contractors were working on the roof at the time of the blaze.
