FORMER Darlington FC chairman George Reynolds was granted leave to appeal against his three-year jail term today.
The 69-year-old, along with his cousin Richard Tennick, was jailed last month after they admitted carrying out a tax scam.
Reynold's barrister, Jamie Hill, told the High Court, the sentence was 'manifestly excessive' and the millionaire was now in failing health.
The case is expected to be heard at London's Criminal Appeal court on December 6.
