A TEENAGE cyclist sustained a broken collar bone when he was involved in a collision between two cars.
The 16-year-old boy was knocked from his bike on the A167 at Thinford, near Spennymoor, when two cars, a Ford Fiesta and a Hyundai, crashed on Monday lunchtime.
The youngster, from Ferryhill, was taken to the University Hospital of North Durham.
Firefighters were called to the scene to cut a driver from one of the cars and police closed the road for around 90 minutes to clear the scene.
No drivers or passengers from the cars were seriously hurt.
