DURHAM Conservatives have launched a campaign to find out what residents think about a range of issues.
The City of Durham and Easington Conservative Association is sending a survey to more than 1,500 homes in the city to gather views on things such as council services, council tax levels, schools, policing and the effects of binge drinking.
Campaign co-ordinator Michael Fishwick said: "We are aware that there is a growing sense of disillusion in the city of Durham among local people with politics and politicians.''
He said the Liberal Democrat rulers of the city council, like their Labour predecessors, had ignored the views of local people and that the Conservatives were determined to offer a better alternative.
The survey closes on New Year's Eve and people can send their views in writing to the association at 6 Old Elvet, Durham, call 0191-386 4619 or send a fax to 0191-384 2541.
