TALENTED hockey player Stacey Lewis has been selected to play for North Yorkshire.
The 15-year-old captains the Northallerton College side and will now join the county's under-16s squad.
Stacey, who is from Northallerton, said: "I was over the moon when I was told.
"Playing at county level can only improve my game and I would love to compete at the highest standard."
Emma Dempsey, sports teacher at Northallerton College, added: "Hockey is hugely popular at the moment so it is a massive achievement to be selected to play at county level.
"Stacey has done brilliantly well and I can see her progressing right to the top if she wants to."
