CHILDREN in Darlington have been getting to grips with cultures from around the world.
To mark national equality and diversity week, staff at Darlington College Childcare Centre have been helping youngsters explore and understand other cultures by putting on displays and cooking and baking international cuisine.
The children looked at black history, examining artefacts brought from Africa, and also found out about Divali, the Hindu festival of light.
The centre's equal opportunities co-ordinator, Annie Robinson, said: "It is important to keep the children informed about other cultures and I think parents have also enjoyed the displays and the experience."
