A TEENAGE burglar who stole nearly £5,000 worth of jewellery has been warned she faces jail.
The 17-year-old from Shildon appeared at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates' Court yesterday and admitted breaking into a house at Lime Grove in Shildon.
She also admitted stealing £55 of underwear from Asda, failing to surrender to custody, and breaching a curfew and a supervision order.
Jenny Haigh, prosecuting, said neighbours saw two people run from the property.
The girl, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was seen to throw away a tin, which was found to contain jewellery and other goods.
Andrew Clinton, in mitigation, said he appreciated custody was inevitable but asked for reports to be carried out.
District judge Michael Wood adjourned the case until December 12 for reports.
