PLANS for a cattery to be built in a village near Darlington have been criticised by parish councillors.
People living in Middleton St George had already voiced concerns about the scheme, which would also include a foul waste incinerator.
Parish councillors have agreed to oppose a planning application submitted to Darlington Borough Council for the development, in Church Lane.
Chairwoman Doris Jones said: "There have been a lot of complaints about this already, especially as it also involves a foul waste incinerator - and we have a cattery and dog pound on the outskirts of the village."
It was agreed to lodge a formal objection to the proposals with the borough council.
