A CENTRE designed to support new and expanding technology-related businesses with the potential for growth in a competitive worldwide market was launched yesterday.
Government Chief Whip and north-west Durham MP Hilary Armstrong presided over the ceremony at the £1.3m Consett Innovation Centre.
Owned and managed by Derwentside Industrial Development Agency, the centre offers high-quality office accommodation.
Tenants will have direct access to a team of experts in setting up, working in and advising new businesses in technology-related markets.
The centre will offer hands-on help with product development, product marketing, strategic business planning, financial packaging and management development.
It has 16 office units ranging from 150sq ft to 600sq ft - all equipped with telecom and broadband facilities, and an easy-in, easy-out tenancy agreement. When fully occupied, the tenants will employ about 35 people.
