NEW recruit Dean McDonald is likely to make a quick Hartlepool United debut tomorrow.
After yesterday completing a one-month loan move to Victoria Park, the Ipswich right winger-cum-striker should make his bow at Gillingham.
McDonald joined Ipswich in the summer after being released by Arsenal and has made eight first-team appearances this season.
"It's a good opportunity for Dean to get games at first-team level,'' said boss Joe Royle. "But it's a month's loan and nothing else.''
McDonald could start at the Priestfield Stadium on the right wing, which has proved something of a problem position.
Pool go to troubled Gillingham - boss Neale Cooper quit this week and it was revealed the club is £9.5m in debt - looking to add to their four away wins this season.
Full-back Darren Williams was part of the Cardiff side that drew at the Priestfield Stadium in last season's penultimate game, and he is sure he can head home tomorrow night after going one better.
"It was disappointing to lose at home again last week,'' he said. "We started off well, but didn't keep it going and got punished for it.
"We had won four games in a row before that, so we have had a little bit of a setback. It's the inconsistency thing again, which has been the story of our season.
"We must pick ourselves up again and get on another winning run, hopefully for a bit longer this time.
"Our home form hasn't settled down and it's difficult to pin down exactly why. Maybe the expectations are a lot higher - people expect us to win every home game.
"We can win at home, we've proved that by going on a little run and last week was a little hiccup, nothing more.
"Our away from has been good and we have more points away from home than at home.
"We only played Gillingham the other week, so we know each other, and we go there looking to start another winning run.''
