AFTER more than 30 years of dealing with 999 calls, Pauline Morritt is going to take things easy.
She has just completed her last duty shift in the control room of the North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service.
She has served for 31 years and in that time has dealt with many thousands of emergency calls.
Her retirement present was a painting of Wheeldale Moor - because of the number of times she dealt with moor fires there.
Pauline began her service in April 1974 and was promoted to leading control operator and then senior control operator the following year.
She intends to get her retirement off to a comfortable start by spending five weeks relaxing in Australia and New Zealand.
