TWO winter events have been organised at a north Durham tourist attraction.
Durham Wildlife Trust's Rainton Meadows Nature Reserve and Visitor Centre, near Houghton-le-Spring, is working with Wildlife Watch, its club for young environmentalists.
On Saturday, youngsters and their families are invited to learn more about the trees on the reserve.
People can learn to identify trees, even without their leaves, and take part in seasonal crafts and activities.
The event runs from 1.30pm to 3.30pm and is open to anyone.
On Saturday, December 10, the hunt is on at Rainton Meadows for natural materials such as pine cones and leaves, to make original and unique Christmas decorations, that can grace a mantlepiece or be hung on the tree.
This event also takes place between 1.30pm and 3.30pm.
Both sessions cost 50p per child and under-eights must be accompanied by an adult.
All are welcome to attend and for more information, call Helen Cheetham at Rainton Meadows on 0191-584 3112.
