THE cause of a house fire which took five hours to bring under control was being investigated yesterday.
The terraced property in Fearby, near Masham, was badly damaged in the blaze.
Firefighters were called at about 1am on Wednesday and remained on the scene until after 6am.
Appliances from Masham, Bedale, Ripon and Leyburn attended.
The fire is believed to have started in the living room.
The cause is still unclear. A fire investigation officer was to visit the property yesterday afternoon.
No one is believe to have been injured in the blaze.
