THE YOUNG victim of an horrific rape has described her ordeal in a bid to help police track down her attacker.
The 21-year-old woman was forced to the ground and raped at about 2.30am on Sunday as she walked home from the Trades Nightclub in Consett, County Durham.
She lay unconscious in Blackhill Park for an hour-and-a-half, before she came around then ran to the cottage at the bottom of the park, to raise the alarm.
Speaking at a news conference at Durham Police Headquarters in Durham, she said: "He attacked me and pulled me to the ground. I was screaming and I kicked him lots of times and I kept screaming."
She added: "When he started strangling me, I thought that was it."
The attacker is described as in his early 20s, of medium build with dark hair, a local accent, and round staring eyes.
Anyone with information is asked to ring the Durham Constabulary on 0845 60 60 365 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
