A PASSPORT Agency worker is hoping tomorrow's Mr Gay UK competition finals, in Blackpool, will be his passport to a modelling career.
Nick Bentham, 19, who has worked at the Durham Passport Office for two years, won the Newcastle heat, in April, and is in the final with 19 other heat winners from all parts of the country.
Since his win, he and the other finalists have travelled around the country visiting various gay pride events and taking part in club promotions.
Contestants in the final will wear swimwear and fantasy outfits and the winner will be chosen from a combination of judges' votes and public votes.
The winner will receive a car, £5,000 and a modelling contract.
Mr Bentham said: "I've done a bit of modelling and I'm hoping for a modelling career.
"As this year's final isn't on TV, I need to get as many votes as possible beforehand and support from the North-East.''
People can vote for him by calling 0901-294 2316; texting vote newcastle to 86211; or visiting the competition website www.mrgayuk.co.uk where pictures are available.
