A SIGNED picture of the cast of Coronation Street and a jacket worn by TV presenter Carol Malia will go under the hammer to raise money for children with diabetes.
Organisers hope next month's event at St Paul's Church, Witton Park, will raise about £1,000 to go towards buying insulin pumps for youngsters being treated by Bishop Auckland Hospital consultant Dr Bill Lamb.
Other items up for auction on Thursday, December 8, include signed books by Bobby Robson and Ruth Rendell, a signed picture of mountaineer Chris Bonnington and a round of golf.
It is the second auction to be held this year by Tom Dixon from Calder Close, Etherley Dene. He said: "I am doing this for the children. These pumps will save them from having to inject themselves with insulin between two and six times a day.''
Durham Constabulary's Male Voice Choir will perform after the auction.
Tickets are £6 from Mr Dixon on (01388) 608040.
