A FAMILY of Halloween trick or treaters raised more than £85 for the Butterwick Hospice at Bishop Auckland.
Samantha Kemp, 12, Joanne, ten, and Christopher, eight, from Chilton, visited the hospice to hand over £86.31 and thank staff for supporting their aunt, Judith Yorke.
Ms Yorke has been a day patient at the hospice since April. She said: "My nieces and nephews know how much I look forward to going to the hospice and wanted to add their thanks by raising money.
"At the hospice, you are among other people who are there for the same reason. Most importantly, you can be truthful about how you feel without upsetting your family. Everyone supports each other.
"Without generous people in our local community, cancer patients wouldn't have this opportunity offered by the Butterwick to improve and give value to our lives."
