A SERIES of events are to be held across the North-East in an attempt to reduce the number of people killed and injured in falls from ladders.
The Health and Safety Executive's (HSE) Ladders Week, starting today, aims to increase awareness among employers, the self-employed and ladder-users of the risks involved and to give advice on how to use ladders safely.
Events in the region include a safety and health awareness day at Sunderland Tennis and Racquet Club, Doxford Park, on November 22, and a similar event at the Three Tuns Hotel, in Durham, on December 2.
A presentation on ladder safety will also be given by the HSE to major employers at the City of Sunderland College, Bede Centre, on December 8.
