A CAMPAIGNER who denies terrorising his neighbours claims it is his life that has been made a misery, a court heard.

Trevor Davidson, of Norton Green, Stockton, is facing an anti-social behaviour order (Asbo) after a neighbourhood dispute spiralled out of control and a catalogue of complaints were made against him.

The 53-year-old electrician told Teesside magistrates that trouble erupted after the arrival of new neighbour Jason Clark, who Mr Davidson said had provoked him relentlessly.

He said: "His behaviour is beyond belief. It is just like going back to school."

Mr Davidson accepted he called Mr Clark "fat boy" but maintained he was regularly taunted by his neighbour.

He had also fallen out with another neighbour, Karen Gibson, over complaints about the way he was restoring his 200-year-old home and for allegedly taking photographs of her.

Mr Davidson's wife, Linda, described the last few years as a "living hell".

She said: "It has had a serious affect on my health and my mental state. I don't like to be in my house alone - I won't go out on my own. These people are just trying to make our life a misery in every way."

Mrs Davidson accused Mr Clark of taking video footage of her in her bedroom while she was preparing to take a bath.

The incident was investigated by police and yesterday she produced a camera phone image of a man in the grounds of Red House School, who she said was Mr Clark.

The application for the Asbo against Mr Davidson has been submitted by Stockton Borough Council's anti-social behaviour team.

The head of the council's crime and disorder unit, Carolyn Crean, had earlier told the hearing that Mr Davidson refused to sign an acceptable behaviour contract, which could have ended the trouble.
