THE innovative DigitalCity collaboration has taken on board its newest member - a 3D visualisation expert.
The regeneration project, which is partnered by Middlesbrough Council, funded by One NorthEast and managed from within the University of Teesside, has appointed Vassilios Hurmusiadis to strengthen its team of mentors for digital-based businesses.
He will work alongside creative director Gareth Edwards and digital media specialist Dave Sharp to ensure that people reach their maximum potential in this specialist field.
His main task will be to provide students and DigitalCity members with expert advice, and guidance in their careers, as well as within projects.
Dr Hurmusiadis said: "I am overjoyed at having the opportunity to work in such a visionary and close-knit team. The astonishing variety of creative talent that DigitalCity generates means that I will have the chance to see and work with a huge and eclectic range of exciting projects."
Originally from Greece, Dr Hurmusiadis graduated in 1988 with a degree in mechanical engineering.
He then gained an MA in computer animation and visualisation from Bournemouth University, followed by a PhD from the same institution.
