A PRIMARY school football team has kick started half term sporting new strips.
Coundon St Joseph's RC Primary School has smartened up its act with the strip, a present from the parents of one of the players.
Alison and Chris Matthews, who run Kurlisees Food Bar, in Coundon, wanted to do something to support the team that their son Kurtis plays for, and decided that buying strips was ideal.
Mr Matthews said: "I am a manager and coach at Newton Aycliffe, but we wanted to do something for the kids in Coundon.
"I enjoy watching junior football and have watched the school even before Kurtis was in the team. We just wanted them to look good.''
Headteacher Stefa McManners said: "It is good that the community gets involved with the school in this way. It is especially nice that the sponsorship comes from one of the parents.''
