A SOFT drinks company has secured £50,000 to increase its product range.
Thorncroft Drinks, in Eaglescliffe, Teesside, makes a range of healthy cordials, including wild nettle and pink ginger flavours, which it supplies to Sainsbury's, Waitrose and Harrods.
The company approached fund manager NEL for £50,000 to develop the Healthy Thirst range of ready-to-drink cordials.
The drinks have since been recognised as health food chain Holland and Barratt's Best New Product of the Year, and by the global Softdrinksworld Innovation Awards, where it won the best adult soft drink category.
Managing director Guy Woodall said: "We know there are huge commercial opportunities out there waiting to be exploited, especially within overseas markets, and we're now in a position to really make the most of them."
