THE man who helped transform dairy business ACC into a multi-million pound company has been appointed chairman of one of the North-East's fastest-growing companies.
TREVOR HUGHES, who has been a board member of CWS retail and the Co-Operative Bank, as well as vice-president of the Dairy Industry Federation, will be chairman of leaflet distribution company, Amaro.
Amaro, which operates from two bases in Gateshead, employs hundreds of people and has cornered the market in leaflet distribution.
Mr Hughes' role is one of a number of appointments, along with BOB MORTON, as finance director and ROGER BLIGHT, former financial director of Nike Europe.
"This appointment and the others made to the board are all part of the plan to support our national expansion," said company founder and managing director Robert Greener.
