A LOVING father will make a last-ditch effort to save his dying three-year-old daughter by donating one of his kidneys.
Kenzi Quinn, of Palgrove Road, Pennywell, Sunderland, spends 11 hours a day on a dialysis machine. Without a transplant soon, she will not survive.
Surgeons were forced to remove both of Kenzi's kidneys in an operation that saved her life last year.
Her father, Preston, a North Sea oil rig worker, is hoping to give her the gift of life. Doctors have tested the 34-year-old and his partner, Jill Graham, 36, to see which parent is Kenzi's best donor match.
Mr Quinn is the better option and if, as expected, medics agree his body can function with one kidney, the operation will go ahead in the new year.
He said: "She is my daughter and I want the best for her, whatever the consequences."
