DESPITE much water flowing under the bridge since the publication of our acclaimed annual Racing North pull-out in March, ten-to-follow pick Let It Be (6.50) continues to reward the faithful, writes Colin Woods (Janus).
What a magnificent servant she's been to Lingdale's Keith Reveley, as well as readers wise enough to stick with the ultra-consistent four-year-old mare who, with the odd exception, just doesn't seem to know how to run a bad race.
During the height of summer Let It Be nabbed a brace of staying events at Redcar and Haydock and although she hasn't won since, the game daughter of Entrepreneur has gallantly made the frame on each of her last two starts.
Such is the scope of Let It Be, she'd probably acquit herself with equal credit in the National Hunt arena, however that's a perilous route and while there are still contests like Wolverhampton's Christmas Parties Handicap to be plundered, there's no point in risking her neck over the jumps.
"I've every reason to believe Let It Be will progress nicely over the coming season," Reveley told Racing North at his Groundhill Farm stronghold some eight months ago.
Never one to be mealy-mouthed, Reveley chooses his words carefully and it is no wonder he's done exceptionally well having taken the reins from his illustrious mother, Mary, a year ago last August.
