UniBond League: Bishop Auckland manager Brian Healy is set to give midfielder Dale Mendum his debut in their away game at Brigg Town this afternoon.
Healy has been working hard on bringing in new players in the last fortnight, and he's hoping that the former Darlington trainee will be the first of several more new faces.
Healy has made official approaches for several players, including Tow Law's Graham Liddle and Billingham Town's Andrew Burton, and he said: "I've drawn up a list of possible targets, but the defence is the top priority at the moment.
"I've had a good look at the squad, and I know where I need to strengthen. There are several players I want to hold on to and use as the foundation of the team."
However, striker Mark Sheeran will probably be missing this afternoon because of injury.
In the Premier Division, Whitby will give a fitness test to midfielder Craig Veart ahead of their home game with Telford. Gateshead make the long trip to Ilkeston, while Blyth go to Wakefield-Emley.
