MORE than 80,000 people are expected to attend one of the region's biggest bonfire and fireworks shows tomorrow.
Tees Valley will mark the 400th anniversary of the Gunpowder Plot with a spectacular Festival of Fireworks.
Displays in Stockton, Redcar and Darlington all start at different times.
The first fireworks will be lit at 6pm at Stockton Riverside, followed by the display at Redcar Racecourse, which starts at 7pm, and, finally, the bonfire will be lit at Darlington's South Park at 7.30pm, with pantomime star Zoe Birkett performing at 7.40pm. The fireworks will start at 8pm.
In Stockton, roads surrounding the Riverside will close at 4pm in preparation for the event, and the Millennium footbridge will be closed from about 5.50pm.
The Princess of Wales Bridge will be closed from 10am until about 8pm as some fireworks will be lit in this area.
In Darlington, the following streets will be closed between 4.30pm and 9.30pm: Victoria Embankment, Bedford Street and all side roads between Bedford Street and Clifton Road, which are south of Victoria Road.
Local bus companies are expected to put on extra services into the town centre.
Meanwhile, pupils at Corporation Road Community Primary School in Darlington were given fireworks safety advice at a special session yesterday, with the help of Guy Fawkes.
