VOLUNTEERS have boosted the campaign to spruce up a woodland area on the edge of Darlington this week.
Schoolchildren joined members of the borough council's countryside team to help plant bulbs in Beech Wood, off Barmpton Lane.
The day's activities followed the recent setting up of a Friends of Beech Wood organisation, which is recruiting people interested in restoring and maintaining the area.
