THE property market continued to show signs of stabilising last month with house prices rising by 1.3 per cent, figures showed yesterday.
The rise wiped out the falls recorded in August and September, and pushed the average cost of a home in the UK up to £157,107, compared with £152,159 in October last year, according to Nationwide Building Society.
At the same time, the annual rate of price growth rose for the first time for more than a year - although at 3.3 per cent it still remains well down on levels of more than 15 per cent seen this time last year.
